Smith Point and Cupsogue Outer Beaches
The following restrictions are in place for Smith Point and Cupsogue Outer Beaches:
Cupsogue: 4wd access on Dune Road to the inlet will be closed from west of the metal gate at the Cut H turnaround effective today, 6/10/2026 until further notice. Public access to the beach and inlet for fishing are still available on foot.
Smith Point: The day-trip area is west of Cut 2. The reopened Burma Rd from Cut 1A to the inlet is for fishing access only. We are estimating that around 300 cars will fit in the day-trip area. Please see the attached map for details.
Please follow all posted signs and barricades when visiting the outer beach. (Source: Suffolk County Parks)
