Smith Point takes 4th at All Women’s lifeguard tournament
The Town of Hempstead All-Women’s Lifeguard Tournament is an annual competition held at Town Park at Lido Beach during Lifeguard Appreciation Week in late July. The event brings together female ocean lifeguards from beach patrols across the region to compete in a series of challenging events that test their strength, speed, endurance, and lifesaving skills.
Competitors race in swimming, running, paddling, and rescue events that reflect the real-life duties of an ocean lifeguard. It is also an opportunity for lifeguards to build friendships, promote professionalism, and recognize the important role female lifeguards play in protecting the public.
