The Story Behind the Tunnel Artwork

The colorful artwork in these tunnels was created by Splashes of Hope, a nonprofit organization founded in 1996. Their mission is simple but powerful: use art to transform spaces, brighten environments, and help people heal.

Each mural is custom-designed, by a child and then painted by an artist. Over the past three decades, Splashes of Hope has brought its inspiring murals to hospitals and healthcare facilities in all 50 states, as well as communities in France, Italy, and Ukraine.
