Junior Lifeguards – final week

Although you hope you’ll never use cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for a child or infant, it’s important to know the steps so that you can help in the event of a cardiac or breathing emergency. We thought that it would benefit our Junior Lifeguards and their families to go over the basic steps of CPR… they had a good time performing 30 compressions on our manikin!

The Smith Point Junior Lifeguard program’s goal is to educate our Suffolk County Patrons and youth about ocean safety. Through ocean training, interaction and exploration, the Smith Point Junior Lifeguards gain: development of confidence, mental and physical fitness and respect for one another and the coastal environment.

This year was no different… through mutual training, interaction and exploration our junior Lifeguards were developing confidence, mental and physical fitness while respecting each other  and the coastal environment.

Please check back in May of 2019 for next year’s season time and dates.

Thank you to the Kelly family for the baked goods! As you can see, our guards loved it!
