Bob Kolar receives The Billy George USLA Sportsmanship Award

In 2008, the Smith Point Lifeguards received The Billy George Sportsmanship Award. All of the lifeguards were very proud of this outstanding accomplishment.

Five years later, at the National Lifeguard Championship in Manhattan Beach, California, Chief Bob Kolar received The Billy George Sportsmanship Award. This award is presented to the individual, who in the opinion of the Officials, displayed the best sportsmanship at the USLA National Championships.

Chief Bob Kolar started his ocean lifeguard career in 1982 at Smith Point Park. During his tenure, as a Senior Lifeguard, Assistant Chief and now Chief, Mr. Kolar has helped to maintain the outstanding record of “0” drownings. Bob has led the Smith Point team to numerous Local, Regional and 7 National Titles.
