Tornado/Waterspout formed off Long Island?

While tornadoes are uncommon off Long Island, waterspouts can occasionally form over the Atlantic Ocean or Long Island Sound, especially during the summer months. Long Island had one watersprout formed approximately three years ago over South shore waters.

August is one of the more active months for tornado activity in the region. Yesterday, however, it appeard that Long Island had a tornado/waterspout touchdown in the area.
