County Executive announced extended hours for all County Beaches
In response to this week’s dangerous heat wave, the County Executive has announced extended operating hours at all Suffolk County beaches. From Wednesday through Sunday, county beaches will now be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., giving residents and visitors an additional hour and a half to enjoy the shoreline while providing more opportunities to cool off safely.
The extended hours come as temperatures and humidity are expected to remain high throughout the week, increasing the demand for safe places to escape the heat.
Lifeguards will continue to provide supervision throughout the extended hours to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Patrons are reminded to swim only in guarded areas, stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and follow all park rules and regulations.
