Smith Point Women’s Team takes 3rd place at the Town of Hempstead 2025 women’s lifeguard competition

The Smith Point Women’s Lifeguard Team had a great showing Wednesday night at Lido Beach. Competing in the sand and surf, our ladies showed off their strength, teamwork, and lifesaving skills. With multiple solid finishes, the team proved they are one of the best on the beach.

The day started strong with the distance run, a long race on the sand. Juliette Kristophel ran hard and finished in 3rd place, while Katie Kolar followed closely behind in 5th. Their performances gave the team early momentum.

Next was the ocean kayak race. Brooke Davies paddled through and finished in 4th place, showing great control and balance in the water.

In the run-swim-run (R-S-R) event, Smith Point had six entries. Jackie Dominger led the group with a strong 5th place finish. Eva Fagundes placed 10th, followed by Kate Ottman (11th), Grace Cullen (14th), Brooke Davies (18th), and Julia Horan (20th).

During the run-paddle-run, which tests speed and endurance, Brooke Davies and Kyla Kastner placed 15th and 16th.

After a short break, the team returned for the Iron Woman race, one of the hardest events. It combines swimming, running, and paddle. Katie Kolar placed 8th and Grace Cullen finished 10th, both proving their all-around athletic skills.

In the surf rescue race, Jackie Dominger and Ann Fici worked together to earn a strong 4th place finish.

One of the biggest wins of the day came in the landline rescue. The team of Juliette Kristophel, Kate Ottman, Eva Fagundes, Olivia Plummer, and Morgan Farrell worked together smoothly to finish in 1st place. This event takes teamwork, and Smith Point delivered.

Juliette and Kate also competed in the paddle pickup, where they placed 6th, and then joined Jackie Dominger and Eva Fagundes in the swim relay. Their teamwork helped them bring home a 2nd place finish.

The day ended with the exciting 4 x 90 relay. Calla Kolar, Katie Kolar, Juliette Kristophel, and Morgan Farrell ran hard and placed 3rd.

The Smith Point Women’s Lifeguard Team had a great day full of effort and heart. Every team member played an important role, whether they were running on the beach, paddling in the ocean, or swimming through waves. Congratulations Ladies!
