Smith Point County Park bathing season to be extended past Labor Day
Smith Point County Park will remain open for swimming for two additional weekends after Labor Day, as announced by Suffolk County Executive Edward P. Romaine on Thursday. This extension will keep the summer season going until September 15.
“By keeping our most accessible county beach open, we give residents more time to escape the heat and enjoy our amenities,” Romaine said in a statement.
Lifeguards will be on duty at the beach from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, (9/7/24, 9/8/24, 9/14/24 and 9/15/24) and parking fees will be collected from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to county officials.
