53 Rescues at Smith Point
Sunday was a GREAT day!
Constant teaching about safety was effectively executed throughout the day. Our lifeguards on duty performed on point, helping 53 people reach safety and return home to their families and friends. Throughout the day, our guards were constantly in and out of the water to ensure a secure environment. The rookies’ focus never waned, fueled by the supportive and encouraging ‘coaching’ created by more seasoned lifeguards.
By the end of the day, their skills were notably displayed, and they left the beach with a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and rewards of being first responders guarding the Suffolk County beaches.
