Lee remains a large and powerful Hurricane… Hazardous surf and rip current conditions expected at beaches across the Western Atlantic all week, including Smith Point.

Update: As of September 15, 2023, Hurricane Lee is a notable weather event in the Atlantic Ocean. Lee is currently a Category 3 hurricane, with sustained winds reaching up to 125 miles per hour (201 kilometers per hour). This powerful storm is located approximately 600 miles (965 kilometers) east of the eastern seaboard of the United States. While it poses a significant threat to shipping and maritime interests, it is not currently projected to make landfall. However, coastal areas along the eastern United States are advised to closely monitor the hurricane’s progress, as its trajectory could change in the coming days, potentially impacting coastal communities and necessitating evacuation measures.
