Our First Ever Contract Approved!
It’s always a cause for celebration when a contract is ratified and approved. Just before noon on Tuesday 5/23/23, the Suffolk County Legislature approved our SPLA Collective Bargaining Agreement. It indicates that both parties, the County and the SPLA, have agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in the CBA.
Having a ratified and approved contract brings several benefits, including:
- Clarity and certainty: With an approved contract, all parties have a clear understanding of their rights, obligations, and expectations.
- Legal protection: A ratified contract provides legal protection for all parties involved. If any disputes arise in the future, the contract serves as a reference point for resolving issues in a fair and equitable manner.
- Commitment and trust: The approval of a contract demonstrates a level of commitment and trust between the parties. It signifies that both parties are willing to fulfill their respective responsibilities and work towards achieving the agreed-upon goals.
- Basis for future collaboration: A ratified contract can serve as a foundation for a strong relationship. It provides a framework for future collaboration.
