2022 MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) Approved by the S.C. Legislature

The Smith Point Lifeguard Association negotiated a second one-year deal with the Suffolk County Administration to raise average hourly pay. Our union represents approximately 100 lifeguards at all three Suffolk County beaches; Smith Point, Cupsogue and Meschutt. We are happy to announce that this MOA will put our lifeguard compensation more on par with that of State Ocean lifeguards.

The SPLA is seeking to negotiate a long-term deal with the Bellone Administration. Below, please see the salary schedule as of 7/26/2022.

OCEAN GUARD I: $21.00

OCEAN GUARD II: $21.50

OCEAN GUARD III: $22.00

OCEAN GUARD IV: $22.50

OCEAN GUARD V: $23.50

STILL WATER GUARD I: $19.00

STILL WATER GUARD II: $19.25

STILL WATER GUARD III: $19.75

STILL WATER GUARD IV: $20.25

STILL WATER GUARD V: $20.50
