A message from Governor Hochul.
“We’re going to see potentially record-breaking heat across eastern New York State today, with heat indexes forecasted to reach 100 degrees from Albany to New York City.
Remember to reduce outdoor activity, drink plenty of water, and check on your neighbors.”
Today will be another hot day, with a Heat Advisory in effect for much of the region outside of mountain areas. Maximum heat indices will range from the mid 90s to lower 100s in the Heat Advisory. Chances for thunderstorms will increase later this afternoon into this evening. Some storms may become severe with scattered damaging winds and isolated large hail the main threats.
