Anyone interested in becoming an Ocean or Stillwater Lifeguard for Suffolk County Parks?
Our 3 beaches are; Smith Point, Cupsogue and Meschutt.
The 2022 Training course dates are tentatively Sundays from 1:00-4:00pm on 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15 and 5/22 at Suffolk Community College Riverhead Campus Pool. (121 Speonk Riverhead Rd, Riverhead, NY 11901)
There is no fee.
Please bring an ID and be prepared to run 3 miles and swim 2 x 50 yards and 2 x 300 yards for time as well as perform other water safety skills. Applicants must be at least 16 years old as of this summer. Any questions contact Chief Bob Kolar at turnthepage97@hotmail.com. Thank you !
Does this give you pool certification? My daughter needs to be recertified for pools as her certification expired in February. She was thinking about doing ocean certification this year but we haven’t been able to find much information about courses.
