106th Rescue Wing recognized by the President Borut Pahor of Slovenia

106th Rescue Wing… Major Sean Boughal, Major Marty Viera and Senior Airman Mike Hartman and their guys deserve the label “Hero”, and, with this recognition for their courageous acts, they’ve earned it. Well done, Marty, Sean, Mike and crew! Members of the New York Air National Guard’s 106th Rescue Wing get presidential recognition from Slovenia for April 24th international rescue mission

Members of the 102nd and 103rd Rescue Squadrons of the 106th Rescue Wing assigned to the New York Air National Guard, are awarded the Slovenian Medal for Merit in the military field by the President Borut Pahor of Slovenia on May 21, 2017. The ceremony took place at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia office to the United Nations, NY, NY for their international rescue mission to render aid to crew members injured in an explosion on board the motor vessel Tamar that began on April 24th.
