Suffolk County lifeguards made 958 rescues this year within the bathing areas of each of our beaches. We had over two hundred rescues in one week from July 16 to July 24 at Smith Point beach. In addition, each year our lifeguards are called to make outer beach rescues at Smith Point and Cupsogue. Each time we were able to quickly and efficiently rescue the victims and bring them to safety.
