Hurricane Cat 1 Imelda

As of 5 AM EDT on October 1, 2025, Hurricane Imelda, with sustained winds of 90 mph, is located about 455 miles west-southwest of Bermuda and moving east-northeast at 20 mph. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for Bermuda, where hurricane-force winds, flash flooding (2–4 inches of rain), storm surge, and damaging waves are expected later today. Imelda may strengthen near Category 2 before passing close to the island this evening, then weaken and become extratropical in a few days. Dangerous surf and rip currents from Imelda and Humberto will impact Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the U.S. East Coast this week.
