Junior Lifeguards 2025, week #1

Our Junior Lifeguard Program had another exciting and action-packed day at the beach. The morning kicked off with a half mile soft sand run, testing the endurance and legs stamina of all participants. After warming up, the juniors practiced tower entries, focusing on technique and safety. The surfboard relay followed, where teams raced through the water, showing great teamwork and board control.
The 10–12-year-olds brought the energy during the 4 x 25-yard sprint relay, with each team member giving it their all. They also competed in the always-popular beach flags, showcasing quick reflexes, reaction time and fast sprints across the sand to get the ‘flag’.
Meanwhile, the 13–15-year-old group tackled more advanced skills. They practiced deep water dives, followed by a fun but challenging log rolling drill to work on team works and staying together in the surf. The session ended with a distance swim, building stamina and confidence in open water conditions.
To wrap up the day, we gathered for a brief summary of the morning’s activities, highlighting progress and effort. We capped it all off with a group photo of our Junior Lifeguard Educational Program. Great job to all who participated!
…and remember always swim near a lifeguard!
