Doxsee and Verdone, take on Ironman Lake Placid

IRONMAN Lake Placid is one of the world’s premier endurance races, attracting athletes from across the globe to the heart of New York’s Adirondack Mountains. Known for its breathtaking scenery, challenging bike course, and rich Olympic history, the event tests competitors with a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile marathon.

This year’s race was especially meaningful as two of our own lifeguards, Brett Doxsee and Ben Verdone took on the challenge, representing Smith Point with determination, perseverance, and pride. We should also mention that this was Doxsee’s second go at it in two years! Incredible! Their accomplishment reflects the dedication, fitness, resilience and grit that define our Smith Point lifeguards.

Congratulations to both on completing this remarkable achievement!
