Junior Lifeguards 2024, week # 5

Over five weeks, our Junior Lifeguards were immersed in ocean and bay training, fostering both aquatic skills and physical fitness. Daily routines included swimming drills, rescue simulations, and basic first aid instruction. Team-building activities strengthened camaraderie, while competitions tested their abilities and encouraged personal growth. The program also emphasized ocean safety, pool safety, environmental awareness, and the importance of discipline and responsibility. By the end of our 5th session, participants had developed confidence and a solid foundation in lifeguarding principles, ready to come back next season to further their education and skill.
Thank you to all of the parents and our younger future heroes!

The Junior Lifeguards Program left such an impression on myself and my three boys that I cannot overstate my gratitude to all the wonderful mentors and coaches. As an educator, I was so impressed by the ocean and bay instruction, as well as team building skills that my boys experienced. Moreover, the work put into by the Smith Point Lifeguards to assure my boys were comfortable in the ocean and empowered to perform simulated rescues, swimming drills and physical activities on the beach was quite impressive. My boys had an experience the will carry over in a variety of areas through these amazing role models. They all want to become lifeguards. We cannot wait until next year to participate again.
