2024 Junior Lifeguard Program

First Date of our program is July 7th. Please note the date change!

Dates: Sundays only from 8:15 am to 9:45 am. Each session will conclude at 9:45 AM. Please arrive at 8:10 AM each time. As you arrive, please check in at the lifeguard office with one of the Captains at Smith Point Beach or Meschutt Beach. Please fill out this form prior to your arrival.

Who can join? Smith Point, boys and girls aged 10-15, must be able to swim 50 yards continuously and must be able to go in the water and under the water unassisted

Who can join? Meschutt Beach, boys and girls aged 6-9, must be able to swim 25 yards continuously and must be able to go in the water and under the water unassisted

Dates are subject to change without notice: July 7th, July 14th, July 21st, July 28th and August 4th.

The Smith Point Junior Lifeguard program’s goal is to educate our Suffolk County Patrons and youth about ocean and still water safety. Through ocean and still water training, interaction and exploration, the Smith Point Junior Lifeguards gain: development of confidence, mental and physical fitness and respect for one another and the coastal environment.
